Social Media Tecs Top 10 Favorite WordPress Plugins
Increase Your Website Productivity with 10 WordPress Plugins
After you’ve installed WordPress you’ll discover a world of plugins, each designed to increase your website productivity. WordPress Plugins are add-ons for WordPress that plug into the core WordPress application and add extended functionality to the tool.
WordPress Plugins can range from visual changes to complex reporting tools. What each plugin has in common is that they add to the power of the WordPress platform by either replacing or adding features.
The following list of Plugins are my top 10 favorite’s that I use on my own personal website.
SEO Pressor – You Want To Improve Your Website Ranking? This must have WordPress Plugin is capable of testing and rating each post or page with an SEO Score. Enable all automatic optimizations with just a few clicks and Follow the Intelligent suggestions to optimize your content easily. With SEO Pressor you will never go wrong with your on page optimization. You can find more information on SEO Pressor on my SEO Page.
WP-DBManager – This little gem is amazing for backing up your website. It actually has quite a few functions that it can perform but perhaps it’s most impressive feature is it’s ability to email the entire WordPress database to me every day.
SEO Smart Links – Do you inter-link your articles? You should. Linking within an article to other articles is a great way to build Page Rank throughout your site and it’s a great way to get readers to find your other articles on similar subjects. This plugin will interlink keywords to your other articles for you.
Digg Digg Social Sharing – This simple WordPress plugin is what powers the floating social icons at the top of each post here at my website. With an easy access to the Twitter, Digg and Facebook icons, your friends and readers will be able to easily share and promote your content.
ReplyMe – This plugin sends an email to anyone who leaves a comment only when someone comments as a direct response to them. This is a terrific way to help continue the conversations that you’re working to build on your site.
WordPress Plugins are tools to extend the functionality of WordPress
Akismet – is the granddaddy of WordPress anti-spam plugins. The idea is ingenious. Aksimet maintains a comprehensive database of known spammers and whenever a comment is submitted to your blog the WordPress application will check Akismet to see whether it is being submitted by a spammer.
All in One SEO Pack – Many of the original uses of the All in One SEO Pack are not incorporated into the base WordPress application, but there are still several SEO items that this plugin handles better such as titles. I find it very useful and among WordPress users many consider it essential for SEO best practices.
Broken Link Checker – Since my blog has all kind of links, I want to make sure that the links that appear in my blogs are not broken as the blog ages. This is a handy plugin that will check links and report back any broken links. This is an invaluable plugin that will help keep your posts clean and user friendly.
Google Analyticator - Google Analyticator adds the necessary JavaScript code to enable Google Analytics logging on any WordPress blog. This eliminates the need to edit your template code to begin logging. Google Analyticator also includes several widgets for displaying Analytics data in the admin and on your blog.
OnlyWire for WordPress [OFFICIAL] – OnlyWire simplifies the process of submitting your content to over 30 social networking sites at once — including Digg, Reddit, StumbleUpon, Twitter and many others.
When you create a free OnlyWire account and set up your social networking site logins, OnlyWire will submit your post to all of the sites simultaneously. OnlyWire does all of the submission behind the scenes on behalf of you. When your readers use OnlyWire, they can also auto-submit to all of their networking sites. Sign up for a free account at OnlyWire’s website.
In Summary, there is a a great community of plugin developers working daily on existing and new WordPress Plugins. You can find more WordPress plugins to use on your blog at the WordPress.org website. I would recommend that you download and install all of the Plugins I have listed here as these are some of the core plugins you will need for SEO Optimization.
