Your Guide to Joining the Right MLM Company
Can’t decide what MLM Company is right for you?
Having so many network marketing companies to choose from, deciding which MLM company is right for you can be a bit overwhelming. It’s very important that you partner with one that will be beneficial for both you and the company.
In this article I cover the main points you should be thinking about before you make a decision on joining any network marketing company.
As Benjamin Franklin says … “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”
In my experience, and keeping in touch with the industry, I have watched many a MLM company come and go, and many solid MLM companies with long term vision for growth stick around. The following checklist can be used as a guideline to help you in your decision making process.
- Integrity – Vision
- Compensation Plan
- Leadership – Up line
MLM Company Guidelines
#1 – Integrity and Vision. Before you even think about looking at the rest of this checklist, coming to know the integrity and long term vision of the MLM company is the first think to look at.
Over the 100 years of the network marketing industry, many network marketing companies have come and gone for various reasons. But the reputable companies that have stood the test of time because of their integrity, leadership, vision for growth and their products.
Deciding to start a distributorship with an MLM company, whose vision is both long term and fully committed to the growth of the company and the success of it’s distributors, will provide more security and confidence in your future and growth within that network marketing companies organization.
Find as much information as you can on the owners of the company. What is their track record? Who are they? Listen in on their leadership calls. If possible attend any meetings they might be speaking at. This way you can judge their genuineness and their intentions.
#2 – Company Products. The MLM companies products play an important role in your business. In order to generate an income you have to sell something. With so many different products to choose from it can be hard to find a right fit for you. Here is a couple of questions you might ask yourself before making any decisions based on products.
- Is this product something that I would purchase?
- Is this product something that others would be willing to buy?
- Is there a market for this type of product, already?
If the company you are looking at is trying to create a market for their products it will be harder to sale, than products that are already in demand. When you are selling the right product you will find more motivation and commitment to build your network marketing business.
#3 – Compensation Plan. In Network Marketing, your income is based on the specifics of the companies compensation plan. These compensation plans can often be complex and difficult to understand. So before you join up with a network marketing company it’s important to really know how the compensation plan works and how you get paid.
Here are some questions you could be asking to determine if this plan is right for you…
- What percentage of earnings do I make for each sale?
- How much do I earn for each new rep that I sign up?
- What is the percentage of overrides that you will earn from your organization.
- What do you need to do to qualify?
- What kind of bonuses are being offered and what do you need to do to earn them?
Make sure you understand the compensation plan and the work involved to earn a decent income.
#4 – Company Systems. To succeed in any business you must have systems in place to support you and the growth of your organization. Network Marketing is all about building a team of people that duplicate you and your efforts so that you can begin developing a residual income.
The most frustrating scenario is one in which there is no structure and no systems in place that support the growth of a upcoming organization. It’s as frustrating as sitting in traffic because that’s exactly how you’ll feel when your team is growing but the duplication isn’t happening due to a lack of systems.
Every leader should be preaching the same message. This is not the place where you want to reinvent the wheel or promote super-stardom. The more duplicable your systems are, the quicker you’ll grow and the more success you and your team will experience.
#5 – Up Line Leadership. Being associated with the right team and up line leadership can make or break your business. This may step on some toes but it has to be said…
Joining a MLM company to do your uncle or sister a favor isn’t going to work if you’re serious about building a business. You want to make sure that your up line and team has systems in place that will provide training and support where needed.
If you join any random team without guaranteeing that you’re under proper leadership, it won’t take long before you lose your motivation and eventually get disconnected from what’s happening within the company.
One of the benefits of being involved with a network marketing company is the ability to be amongst an exciting culture of people that motivate and challenge you to grow. If you aren’t plugged in with that culture, the chances of you surviving alone are slim to none.
Be sure to get to know your potential up line, visit their meetings and join in on their calls to see what kind of support system your connected to.
